To choose the proper shaft for your swing you need to take into effect several different characteristics. 

2)    To narrow your shaft choice we need to look at the shaft torque.  Torque measures how much a shaft rotationally twists.  The lower the torque the less the shaft twists.  Fifteen years ago it was thought that all players would benefit from using a shaft with the lowest torque available or affordable, this has been proven wrong.  Players with a fast and quick swing can benefit from low torques but a torque that is to low for a swing can cause a club to feel to stiff or "like a board".  Players with a slower smoother swing will benefit from using shafts with higher torques.
